Pediatric Eye Examinations

  • Regular eye examinations are vital for children’s visual development.
  • Early detection of vision problems allows for more effective management during key growth stages.
  • First comprehensive eye exam recommended at around age 3.
  • Annual check-ups should follow thereafter.
  • Children with amblyopia (lazy eye) or strabismus (squint) may be unaware of their poor vision. They often do not communicate vision problems clearly.
  • Parents may not notice visual issues early on.
  • This can lead to delayed diagnosis and missed optimal treatment periods.
